FAQ
Short-notice questions
If your question is about today's trip, put it in the notes of your request; your advisor answers it with the options.
Timing
Can I really fly the same day I book?
Often, yes. It depends on an aircraft being close to your departure airport and a crew that has had its legal rest. When both are in place, departing a few hours after you confirm is frequently realistic.
What slows a same-day trip down most?
Usually the decision rather than the flight. Once options arrive, choosing, signing and confirming payment quickly keeps the afternoon departure alive. Repositioning an aircraft from elsewhere is the other big factor.
Can I leave the country today?
Sometimes. Passport details must reach the operator early so border filings can be made, and some destinations need advance notice for customs. Allow more time than for a domestic hop.
Price and payment
Is a last-minute charter more expensive?
The price is built the same way: hours flown, repositioning, taxes and fees. What changes is choice. The nearest available aircraft may be larger than you need, or need to fly in, and both show up in the quote, which is always all-in.
When do I pay?
As set out in the charter agreement, which you sign before the operator commits the aircraft and crew. On a same-day trip, allow a little time for payment to be confirmed.
Is there a membership or deposit?
No. You can ask for options today without joining anything or paying anything up front.
On board
Will there be food on the flight?
Drinks and snacks are usually easy. A simple meal needs a few hours' notice, a full menu more. Mention it in your first message.
How much luggage can I bring?
It depends on the aircraft. Tell us the number and size of bags, and anything bulky such as golf clubs or skis, so the options we send can carry them.
Can pets come today?
Frequently, with the operator's approval, which we ask for straight away when you mention them. International trips with animals need documents that usually take longer than a day.
Operators
Who will fly me?
A certificated air carrier: FAA Part 135 in the US, or the equivalent abroad. Same Day Private Jet arranges the trip as a broker, and the operator is named in your quote.
